is The Hill Center's research based approach to teaching reading. RAP focuses on the decoding and fluency skills of reading and is designed to be implemented within a 45-60 minute class period with a 4:1 student teacher ratio. The program has been piloted in public schools and has demonstrated effectiveness in significantly improving reading skills of students who have struggled with the decoding process. In the workshop, participants will be introduced to the fundamentals of the five components of reading, and will learn a precision teaching method utilizing charting and graphing of students' progress. They will also learn to use The Hill Center's Reading Assessment instrument to determine the appropriate entry level of instruction for each student.
